Add-ins Settings

Two settings surfaces relate to add-ins. Admins turn them on for the team and set the policy they enforce, on the Organization page. Anyone can pair an add-in to their own account, on its own page.

What each add-in actually does inside Word, Outlook and Gmail is covered in Add-ins. This page is only about switching them on and signing them in.

The Add-ins section

Where your deployment has the add-ins turned on, an Add-ins section appears on Organisation settings for admins. It is subtitled Install the Judicio add-ins for your team and set the on-send compliance policy that applies to every member, and holds a status card per add-in above the policy editor.

Open organisation settings (opens in a new tab)

The status cards

One card each for Judicio for Word, Judicio for Outlook and Judicio for Gmail, each with its logo, a one-line description and a badge.

BadgeWhat it meansWhat you can do
EnabledThe add-in is turned on for your organisation and has an install listingInstall opens the listing in a new tab
Not enabledIt has a listing, but your organisation has not been given it. The card adds Not enabled for your organization. Contact your admin to turn it on.Nothing on the card
Coming soonNo install listing is configured for this deploymentNothing on the card

Word is the core add-in and needs no mailbox. Outlook and Gmail each carry a mailbox strip under a divider.

ControlWhereWhat it does
Connect mailboxRight of the mailbox strip on the Outlook and Gmail cardsOpens the mailbox sign-in for that provider
Mailbox lineLeft of the same stripReads Connect your mailbox to unlock thread search and deadline sync. while none is connected, and names the connected address once one is

The mailbox is optional. Acting on the message that is open in front of you needs no connection, because the add-in reads that message where it sits. Connecting the mailbox is what adds thread and archive search, and deadline sync.

The on-send compliance policy

Under the cards sits On-send compliance policy, subtitled Controls the pre-send check the Outlook and Gmail add-ins run before a message leaves your organization. Applies to every member. A badge in the header reads Judicio defaults until you save your own, then Custom policy.

ControlWhat it sets
Enforcement modeOff: never block or warn, Warn: flag issues, allow send, or Block: prevent sends with issues
JurisdictionsWhich jurisdictions' rules apply, from India, the European Union and the United States. Leave it empty to apply every one
Default matterThe matter the Word and Outlook add-ins pre-select when filing. Clear default matter unsets it
Allowed recipient domainsRecipients outside these domains are flagged as external. Empty allows any domain
Privilege keywordsPhrases that mark a message as privileged
Required markingsMarkings that must appear on outbound mail
LLM auditRuns an extra model-based review for nuanced privilege and personal-data issues the fixed rules miss

Save policy writes your first policy and Update writes later edits, each confirming inline. Reset to defaults appears once you have a custom policy; it opens a modal titled Reset to Judicio defaults? explaining that your custom rules are removed and the add-ins fall back to Judicio's defaults. Cancel backs out; Reset goes ahead.

For what each check looks for and how a flagged message behaves, see Compliance policy.

Pairing an add-in to your account

An add-in normally signs you in inside Word or Outlook. When it cannot, it shows a short code instead, and you confirm that code in the browser where you are already signed in. Any signed-in user can do this; no admin rights are needed.

Open the pairing page (opens in a new tab)

The page is headed Pair add-in, subtitled Finish signing a Judicio add-in in to your account, with one card on it headed Pair an add-in.

1

Open the page from the add-in

Follow the link the add-in gives you, or open the pairing page yourself. Arriving by the add-in's link fills the code in for you. Nothing submits on its own: you still review the code and confirm it.

2

Enter the code

Pairing code is the only field, shown with a key icon and the placeholder ABCD-2345. The code is eight characters. Case and the dash do not matter, so type it as the add-in shows it.

3

Confirm

Confirm pairing stays disabled until the code is the right length. The Enter key does the same thing. A code that is wrong or has already been used comes back with the reason under the field, and you can retype it.

4

Go back to the add-in

Success replaces the card with Add-in paired, reading Return to the add-in. It should finish signing in within a few seconds. You can close this page. The same page serves Word, Outlook and Gmail.
