Starting a run
Do I need to attach case files?
No. Case Strategy is the one feature in Judicio that runs without documents. Three of its four research angles work from live case-law sources, so a description alone produces a full report. The fourth angle, Evidence over your files, is the one that needs documents.
Attaching files is still the better run where you have them. The composer says so once you have typed a matter with nothing attached: No case files attached. The strategy will rely on your description; attach files for document-grounded analysis.
How many files can one run cover?
Up to 50. The Files panel stops you adding past that, with the message Selection capped at 50 documents. If a selection reaches the home over the cap anyway, a warning above the composer says exactly how many to remove.
Why will it not let me generate?
You have not set a side. Acting for is the one setting a run cannot start without, which is why the settings band opens on it. Without one you get a message asking you to pick the side you act for, or, for a non-party capacity, the side whose case you are advancing.
What is the difference between Capacity and Acting for?
They are two different questions and both matter.
Capacity is how you appear: Party, Intervenor, Amicus curiae or Third party. Acting for is whose case you are advancing: one of the eight procedural sides. An amicus supporting the respondent argues very differently from one supporting the petitioner, so the two are never folded together. For a non-party capacity the second group renames itself Supporting to make the distinction plain.
Can I change the jurisdiction for one run?
No. Jurisdiction comes from the top-bar switcher, which is the only jurisdiction control in the product. The settings band shows it as a pinned, read-only stamp so you can see what the run will be marked with. Coverage is listed in Jurisdictions.
Can I change the language of the output?
Yes, through the Settings chip on the composer. Response language sets the language of chat, memos and briefs for that run. Extraction stays source-faithful and quotes are never translated.
What is Deep Mode?
A heavier pass, described in the product as More thorough analysis. Best for complex or lengthy legal documents. Uses more credits. The toggle sits on the composer rail, and the Generate case strategy modal lets you change your mind before you commit: switching the mode there re-prices the run.
On the Starter plan the toggle is visible but disabled, with an Upgrade link beside it and the note Premium models are available on Professional and above. Upgrade to unlock Deep Mode.
Is there a confirmation modal?
No. Generate strategy opens a modal headed Generate case strategy, subtitled Build grounds, anticipate objections, and find supporting sources., carrying the credit cost, the typical duration and the files. Generate strategy there starts the run; closing the modal returns you to the composer. Nothing is charged until you confirm.
Why is it asking me questions before it starts?
Some runs open with clarifying questions, one at a time, in the right-hand rail. Answer them, or press Skip. Proceed anyway to let Judicio use its best assumption for the rest. The check-in itself is free, and the modal says so — Your clarification check-in used no credits. Generate the strategy with your answers. — before the one charge that follows.
Reading the report
What are the four tabs?
Overview is the neutral assessment and the running order. Arguments is your case, ground by ground, with the opposition folded into the ground it attacks. Court prep is what you will say and what you will be asked. Law & evidence is the provisions, the full authority list and the evidence gaps.
What do the two header badges count?
n to review is how many grounds are still untriaged, and n kept is how many you have kept. Both read from the grounds rail. The information icon beside them gives a different tally: authorities cited, verified, and needing attention.
What does Highlight grounds do?
It tints each ground's claim sentence in the Arguments tab, shaded by the ground's strength, so you can see where a ground actually lives in the prose. Turning it off leaves only the ground currently selected in the rail tinted.
How do I find something in a long report?
The magnifier on the document toolbar expands into Search the report. While a query is active, the tab counts switch from item counts to match counts, so you can see which tab holds what you are after.
Where is the opposition?
Opposition on the document toolbar swaps the rail to a browser of every argument the other side is expected to make, each with a risk badge, their authorities and your rebuttal. Each ground's own opposition also appears inline in the Arguments tab and in the ground's detail view.
Can I edit the report's text?
No. The report is not an editable document. What you can change is the triage, and what you can produce from it is a draft: use the Assistant's Draft tab, then Continue in Drafting. See Exporting and drafting.
Grounds and triage
What do the four lanes do?
To review is the queue every ground starts in. Needs work keeps a ground in play but flags it as not ready. Kept is what you are running. Dropped is what you are not. Lane changes save as you make them.
Does dropping a ground remove it from the report?
No. A dropped ground stays in the report and stays readable. It is out of play for the crib sheet and the moot court, and nothing else changes.
What does Check cites mean on a card?
At least one authority that ground relies on is not fully verified. Open the ground, or the Law & evidence tab, to see which. The badge vocabulary is in Verified authorities.
Why can I see the lanes but not change them?
You have view-only access to this report. The three lane verbs, the bulk verbs and the five generative actions are disabled, with the tooltip Viewers cannot change ground review state. Ask the owner for editor access. See Collaboration.
Authorities
What is the difference between Not checked yet and Not found?
Not checked yet means the verification chain has not reached that authority. Not found means it ran and could not locate a full text for the citation. They are different badges on purpose: one is work outstanding, the other is a result.
An authority has no treatment badge. Is that a problem?
It does not establish an outcome. No treatment badge appears when no treatment was reported or when the check has not completed. A badge appears only for checked treatment such as Followed or Overruled. Check the key authorities yourself; a missing badge does not confirm that an authority remains good law.
Why does the report say some checks did not complete?
The report is shown before the verification chain finishes, so on a fresh run some authorities may still be pending. Reload after a moment. If the chain genuinely could not finish, a banner under the header says so and the authorities it never reached keep Not checked yet.
Scenarios and moot court
Does a scenario change my report?
No. A scenario runs as a linked version. The report you branched from is untouched, and both stay in the version strip at the top of the grounds rail. See What-if scenarios.
Why is New scenario greyed out?
The run it would branch from has not finished. The tooltip reads Available once this run finishes.
Does a moot court change my report?
Not on its own. The setup pane and the scorecard both say the report is never changed by a moot. The one exception is opt-in: Flag and draft on the scorecard moves the grounds that faltered into the Needs work lane with the bench's reason attached.
What if I keep no grounds before mooting?
The session runs over every ground in the report, and the setup pane tells you that is what will happen.
Can I go back to the report mid-session?
Yes. The Strategy / Moot court switch in the header flips between the two without ending anything, and a banner on the strategy side keeps the turn number and the clock in view with a Return to the moot button.
Can I resume an old session?
Yes. Earlier sessions for the report are listed on the setup pane with their mode, turn count and status. Selecting one resumes it. It was charged when it started, so resuming costs nothing extra.
Exporting
What is the crib sheet?
A one-page document built from the grounds you kept: the running order, the speaking notes and the authorities. Choose it under Document in the export modal. Because it reads from your triage, work the grounds rail before you export it.
Is the evidence pack a zip?
No. It is a merged PDF of archived judgments. On a PDF export it is merged into the report itself; on a Word export it downloads as a second file beside the document.
What does Save to Judicio do?
It writes the report into your File Library as a PDF rather than downloading it, so you can use it as an input to another run. It appears in the report header and in the export modal's footer, and both open the same Import to Judicio modal.

What you are charged for
A strategy report is a flat charge, not a per-page one, so neither the length of the matter nor the number of files moves the price. Deep Mode costs more than a standard run. A scenario is charged when you press Re-evaluate, and a moot session when it starts, however many turns it runs. Reading, filtering, triaging grounds, asking the Assistant, drafting in the rail and exporting are all free. See Credits explained.
Troubleshooting
The run stopped before it finished
A banner reads This run stopped before it finished, and everything below it was written before it stopped. Where the run can be retried, a Retry button sits inside the banner. On a salvaged partial like this, Export, Moot court and Save to Judicio are withheld: nothing was saved for them to act on.
You can also retry from the Case Strategy history, on the Failed tab.
I want to stop a run
While the report is being written, a red Stop button sits in the header in place of Export. From the history's In progress tab, the row itself offers Stop run.
The price could not be estimated
The Generate case strategy modal says so and still lets you build. The exact cost is confirmed once the run starts.
It says I do not have enough credits
The build card blocks the run rather than letting it fail later, with the note that you should upgrade your plan. See Credits explained.
I left the page and lost the run
You did not. A strategy runs in the background: the history's In progress tab reads Your strategy is being built in the background. You'll be notified when it's ready. Open the run from there, or from Recent activity on the Case Strategy home.
I cannot find an old strategy
View all under Recent activity opens the full history, with In progress, Needs your input, Failed, Completed and, where a colleague shared one with you, Shared tabs. Each completed row offers Export, Re-run, Rename and Delete. Renaming opens Rename strategy; deleting asks Delete strategy? and cannot be undone.
A run waiting on clarifying questions sits on Needs your input. Opening it is the only way to unblock it.
How do I share the report with a colleague?
The Share button beside the collaborator avatars gives a colleague access to the report. Use Export to download the strategy.
