Exporting & Drafting

A strategy report earns its keep outside the app — in the brief, in chambers, and in the documents you file. Case Strategy exports a branded, complete report in one click, and hands any ground to Drafting when it's time to turn strategy into a document.

Exporting the report​

Click Export in the report header and choose:

  • Format — PDF (branded, ready to print or share) or Word (.docx) (editable, for weaving into your own brief).
  • File name — pre-filled from the matter; rename freely.
  • Include authorities appendix — appends every cited authority with its citation, holding summary, pinpoint paragraphs, and verification status, so the reader can judge the sourcing without opening the app.
  • Evidence pack (archived pages, PDF) — archived copies of every cited page, merged into a single PDF. Judicio fetches and archives each cited page as a PDF/A, so what you cite travels with the document instead of depending on a link staying alive. Pages that cannot be reached are reported rather than silently dropped. On a PDF export the pack is merged into the report itself; on a Word export it arrives as a separate file, because a .docx cannot carry merged PDFs. Building it can take a few minutes on a heavily-cited report — it runs in the background and the download starts as soon as it is ready, so closing the tab does not lose the work.

A live preview renders the actual export document beside the options, a page at a time — the same file the Download button produces, so what you see is what you get. Word exports preview as PDF (the content is identical; only the container differs), and the evidence pack is not shown, because building it archives every cited page and that happens at download. Download saves the file (and the evidence-pack zip beside it, if enabled) — or use Save to Judicio to keep the export in your File Library, where every other tool can pick it up.

If you've run scenarios, the export follows the version you have open — export the base report for the brief and a scenario version for preparation, and the file names keep them apart.

Exporting and saving to Judicio are free — the credits were spent when the strategy was built.

What the exported report contains​

The export mirrors the on-screen memo in reading order: facts summary, issues framed, numbered grounds with strength ratings, anticipated opposing arguments with rebuttals, the neutral judicial evaluation, provisions engaged, evidence gaps, speaking notes, and cross-examination questions — plus the appendix and evidence pack if enabled.

From strategy to draft​

Strategy becomes work product in Drafting:

  • Quick-draft a ground — from a ground's focus view, send it to Drafting as the skeleton of a submission. The ground's argument, its authorities, and its rebuttal context carry across, so the draft starts grounded instead of blank.
  • Promote the report — hand the whole strategy to Drafting as the brief for a full document (grounds of appeal, written submissions, a reply). Judicio drafts it in the tracked-changes editor, with the strategy's authorities cited beside the clauses they support.

The handoff preserves the citation trail: authorities that were verified in the strategy arrive in the draft still carrying their verification, so the document you file inherits the sourcing you already checked.

Draft the speaking notes last

Export the report before the hearing, but hold the speaking notes section until after a moot court session — the scorecard usually tightens two or three of them.
