Getting started with Case Strategy
This is the shortest complete path through Case Strategy: nine screens, from an empty home to a downloaded report. Each step names the control you press and says what happens next.
You need a description of the matter and the side you act for. Case files are optional here, unlike most of Judicio, because three of the four research angles work from live case-law sources. Attaching files adds the document-grounded angle, up to 50 files per run.
Open Case Strategy
Select Case Strategy in the left sidebar. The home opens on the hero What case strategy shall we build today? with the line Grounds in your favour, the arguments coming at you, and verified authorities.
Three controls sit at the right of the hero row. Watch demo plays the product demo in a modal. Take tour walks you through the screen in place. View guide opens this documentation in a new tab.
Beneath the hero is a step trail: Add case files, Describe the matter, Review and run. The first step is marked Optional and its label changes to Case files added once you have picked something. The jurisdiction the run will be stamped with sits at the right-hand end of the trail, read-only.
At the foot of the home, a Recent activity strip lists your last five strategies with the side you acted for, the file count and a status. Selecting one reopens it; View all opens the full history.
Add case files, or don't
The band below the trail reads Strategy runs on your description with the note Attach case files for document-grounded analysis.
Choose files opens the shared Files panel on its Files tab. Upload opens the same panel on its Upload tab. Neither opens a picker of its own.
Once files are selected the band summarises them: the file count, the total page count when every file has one, and a chip per file with a remove control. Add more returns to the Files panel and Clear all empties the selection. Past six files the rest collapse into a single +N more button. Within five files of the 50-file cap the band adds a running readout, and the Files panel refuses to add past it.
Leaving the band empty is a supported choice. Once you have typed a matter description with no files attached, a note appears under the panel: No case files attached. The strategy will rely on your description; attach files for document-grounded analysis.
Describe the matter and set the side
The panel below the band carries three modes.

- Smart Suggestions - shows how many case files are ready to work from, or Add case files to get suggestions when none are selected.
- Templates - Start from a matter-type playbook.
On Ask Judicio, an examples block sits above the composer. With no files it is headed with the active jurisdiction's name and captioned These don't need files. Add documents to tailor examples to your matter. With files selected it is headed Suggested from your documents, and a Regenerate button asks for a fresh set. Selecting an example drops it into the composer and, where the example carries one, sets the side for you.
Type your request into the composer, or dictate it with the microphone. Two chips sit on the composer rail: Deep Mode on the left, and a Settings chip on the right that expands a band of run settings.
The band holds four cells:

| Acting for | The eight procedural sides: Petitioner, Respondent, Plaintiff, Defendant, Appellant, Complainant, Accused, Prosecution. The band opens on this cell, because it is the setting a run cannot start without. |
| Response language | The language of chat, memos and briefs for this run. Extraction stays source-faithful and quotes are never translated. |
Capacity and Acting for stay separate questions. For a non-party capacity the group renames itself to Supporting, and the note under the options explains why: an amicus supporting the respondent argues very differently from one supporting the petitioner.
Press Generate strategy to submit. Without a side you get an error message asking you to pick one.
Smart Suggestions and Templates skip the composer. Open a card, select one strategy, then press Generate strategy on the card. The build step below opens in the Ask Judicio mode either way.
Authorise the spend
Generate strategy opens a modal headed Generate case strategy, subtitled Build grounds, anticipate objections, and find supporting sources.
It carries three figures: the credit cost, captioned standard run or deep mode; the typical duration; and the number of files in scope, or no files. A quiet line under them translates the charge into everyday actions. With no files attached, the no-files note repeats here.
Three controls sit at the foot:

If the estimate itself fails, the card says so and still lets you build: the exact cost is confirmed once the run starts. If your balance is short, a warning replaces the button's availability rather than letting the run fail later.
Judicio builds the report
The run opens on its own page. The report writes itself into the left pane section by section, with a Building… badge in the header and a Stop button in place of Export.
The right-hand rail is the Strategy Assistant, subtitled Ask across the strategy, or generate arguments. It shows your matter description, the files you attached, the side you set, and then the run's own working: a case profile card, and one card per research angle. The four angles are Arguments in your favour, Arguments against you, Applicable provisions and Evidence over your files. Each card names the report section its findings were written into once that section lands. An Activity disclosure under the document holds the step-by-step ladder.
Some runs pause first and ask. When they do, the rail opens a question dock instead: one question at a time, with Continue, Back and Skip. Proceed anyway. The check-in itself is free, and the Generate case strategy modal returns after the last question to authorise the real charge — it says so in its own words: Your clarification check-in used no credits. Generate the strategy with your answers.
You can leave the page. On the history's In progress tab a note reads Your strategy is being built in the background. You'll be notified when it's ready.
Read the report
When the run settles, the screen splits: the strategy document on the left, the grounds rail on the right.
The header carries the run name, the side chip, the run facts, then two badges counting the grounds still to review and those already kept, and an information icon whose tooltip gives the authority tally. The actions are Moot court, Save to Judicio, Assistant, Export and Share.
The document has four reading tabs: Overview, Arguments, Court prep and Law & evidence, each with a count except Overview. A Highlight grounds toggle, an Opposition button and a report search sit on the same toolbar. See Understanding the report.
Work the grounds
The rail on the right is where a report becomes a decision. Grounds sit in four lanes: To review, Needs work, Kept and Dropped, each tab carrying its own count. A strength filter beside them offers All strengths, Strong, Moderate and Weak.
Each card carries the ground's title, its strength badge, the first sentence of the argument, and a footer of four verbs: Keep, Needs work, Drop and View in document. A bulk bar above the list offers Keep all, Needs work all and Drop all over exactly the grounds currently on screen.
View in document opens that ground on its own, with its authorities, the opposing argument and your rebuttal, and five actions that generate against it. See Reviewing grounds.
Argue it in a moot court
Moot court in the header opens the setup pane over the left pane. It asks What kind of bench do you want? and offers Opposing counsel, Bench grilling and Full moot. Start the session begins; a readout beside it reads 10 credits · ~20 turns · charged at start.
Once a session is attached, a Strategy / Moot court switch appears in the header with a live clock, so you can read the report and come back without losing the session. See Moot court.
Export the report
Export in the header opens the Export strategy report modal. Choose the Document, either Strategy report or Crib sheet, pick PDF (.pdf) or Word (.docx), edit the file name, and press Download.
The report keeps Include authorities appendix on by default, and Evidence pack (archived judgments, PDF) adds the archived judgments behind the citations. Save to Judicio in the footer writes the export into your File Library instead of downloading it. See Exporting and drafting.
