Citation Share Links
A citation share link lets someone outside your organisation open one cited passage — no Judicio account required. It is not a product tile on the marketing site, and it is not the same as sharing a work item with a colleague.
The control is the Share icon on a citation that points at a file in your library. Citations with no file (for example a web-only research source) do not show the button.
What the recipient sees
They open /share/<token> and land on a shared citation view. Depending on how you minted the link they may be asked for an email first:
- Verify email (one-time code) — they enter an email, then the code Judicio sent to that address.
- Capture email (no verification) — they enter an email and continue.
- Anyone with the link — no gate. This option is available only for Quote only links.
The page tells them their email and the time they opened the link are recorded and shared with you. A watermark (when you left it on) tiles their email across the view.
They then see the cited quote, and — if you chose Full source — the cited page. The footer reads Citation verified with Judicio.
What you choose when you create the link
Open Share this citation next to the source. The dialog asks:
| Control | Options |
|---|---|
| What to share | Quote only (the cited passage) or Full source (the cited page) |
| Who can open it | Verify email, capture email, or (quote-only) anyone with the link |
| Watermark | On by default — tiles the viewer's email on the shared view |
Full-source links cannot be "anyone with the link"; the dialog removes that option, and the server rejects it too.
After you create the link, copy the URL and send it yourself. Recipients who hit a revoked or expired link see that the sender closed it.
How this differs from work-item sharing
| Citation share link | Work-item sharing | |
|---|---|---|
| Who | Anyone you send the URL to, including people without a Judicio account | Active members of your organisation |
| What | One cited passage (or its page) | The whole research session, review, draft, matrix, timeline, translation, or strategy report |
| Where it lives | /share/<token> | Inside the signed-in dashboard |
Use work-item sharing for colleagues on a matter. Use a citation share link when you need an outside party to check a single source.
Next steps
- Sharing a Work Item — Editor and Viewer access for organisation members.
- File Library sharing — share folders with co-counsel.
