Getting Started with Lookup

This guide walks the Lookup home — court cases first, then companies — the same path as the looping demo. Lookup is India-only and only appears when it is available for your organisation.

Lookup · India court records and companies
What you'll need
  • Lookup enabled for your organisation
  • Active jurisdiction set to India
  • An organisation workspace on a plan that includes Lookup
1

Open Lookup

Click Lookup in the left sidebar (it is there when Lookup is available). You land on "What would you like to find today?" with the subtitle "Search public records and pull the documents straight into your files."

The mode strip is Court cases and Companies. The search bar on Court cases is Party or advocate name.

Narrow with more filters

Open More filters to set State, Court, case number, year, status, and filed-after / filed-before dates. Leave a filter blank to search more broadly — a court filter can only reduce what you find.

If you have a 16-character CNR, that field finds the matter exactly and no other field is needed.

Read the hits

Search returns a list of matching matters. Click a hit to open the record in place on the same page.

4

Open the record

The record panel shows the matter and any orders already available. Select documents and import them into File Library when the record supports original documents.

Court-case records do not use the paid company-filings unlock.

5

Switch to Companies

Use the Companies tab to search by company name or identifier (CIN / LLPIN / DIN). Optional State and City fields help when several companies share a name.

Recent activity

Imports and unlocks stay on Recent activity on the Lookup home, so you can leave while a registry retrieval is running and come back when it finishes.
