Using System Workflows
Judicio includes 500+ expert-built templates — 100 each for review checklists, research playbooks, drafting outlines, timeline date sets, and matrix question sets — created and maintained by Judicio's team and available to everyone. This guide walks you through finding the right one, previewing exactly what it does, and putting it to work — click by click. The whole flow is shown in the looping demo below; the steps beneath it break it down.
- A Judicio account with an active subscription or free trial
- Nothing to set up — the expert templates are available to every account out of the box
- A document or two in your File Library if you want to use a template in a feature straight away
Open Templates
Click Templates in the top navigation. The hub opens with a row of tool tabs — Document Review, Review Matrix, Timeline, Research, Drafting — and a New Template button on the right.
Pick the tool you're working in. Each tab holds 100 expert templates plus any you've saved or that have been shared with you, so the library spans every practice area without you setting anything up.

Filter by category
Use the category pills at the top of the list to narrow it down:
- My templates — the ones you've created.
- Judicio templates — the expert, ready-to-use library.
- Shared with me — templates a teammate has shared with you.
Search by name, or filter by practice-area tag (M&A, Real Estate, Litigation, Regulatory…), to jump straight to what fits the matter in front of you.
When you start from a feature with files already selected, Judicio surfaces the templates that best match those documents — so the most relevant one is usually at the top.

Preview a template
Click any card to open its detail pane on the right. You'll see exactly what the template does before you commit:
- a description and the practice-area tag,
- the full list of what it carries — review checks with their MUST / SHOULD / NICE-TO-HAVE severity (and acceptable / fallback / unacceptable criteria you can expand), questions with their answer types, date types, or focus areas,
- and, for an expert template, a banner noting it's managed by Judicio and can't be modified or removed.
Review the list and decide whether to use it as-is or duplicate it to tailor your own copy.

Use it in a feature
When the template fits, click Use in Document Review (or Use in Timeline, Use in Review Matrix, Use in Research, Use in Drafting — the button names the tool it belongs to).
Judicio takes you into that feature with the template's criteria already loaded. From there you select your documents, review the credit estimate, and run the analysis — no re-typing the checklist.

Create your own — three ways
If none of the expert templates fit exactly, click New Template. Judicio asks "How would you like to create a template?" and offers three routes:
- Generate with AI — describe what you need in plain language and Judicio drafts the template for you.
- Build Manually — add your checks, questions, date types, or sections by hand in a structured editor.
- Extract from file — upload a document you already trust and Judicio turns it into a reusable template.
See Creating Custom Workflows for the full builder walkthrough.

Share it — personal or firm-wide
Your own templates start private. To put one in front of your team, open it and choose Share template, then pick All members to share it organisation-wide or Specific members to choose who gets it.
This is how a practice group keeps one standard checklist everyone works from. See Sharing Workflows.

One library, every tool
Everything lives in one place. Switch tool tabs and category pills to move across the whole library — review checklists, research playbooks, drafting outlines, timeline date sets, and matrix question sets — for every practice area, from M&A and finance through litigation, employment, and regulatory.
Browse, search, and manage all of it from the Workflow Library.
