Project History
Every project in Judicio maintains a complete activity history -- a chronological log of every meaningful action taken within the project. This audit trail helps you track progress, understand who did what, and maintain accountability across your team.
What is tracked
The activity history records the following types of events:
| Event type | Examples |
|---|---|
| Project management | Project created, description updated, settings changed |
| Document activity | Files uploaded, files deleted, processing completed |
| Document reviews | Reviews started, reviews completed, findings resolved |
| Research | Research activities created, research completed |
| Timelines | Timelines created, events added or edited |
| Translations | Translations started, translations completed |
| Team changes | Members invited, members removed, roles changed |
| Archiving | Project archived, project restored |
Viewing the activity history
To view a project's activity history:
- Open the project from the sidebar or the Projects list.
- Navigate to the Activity tab.
- Browse the chronological list of events, with the most recent activity at the top.
Each activity entry shows:
- What happened -- A description of the action (e.g., "Document Review completed on contract.pdf")
- Who did it -- The team member who performed the action
- When -- The date and time of the action
Filtering the activity history
For projects with extensive history, use filters to narrow the view:
- By event type -- Show only document uploads, only reviews, only team changes, etc.
- By team member -- See only actions performed by a specific person
- By date range -- Focus on a specific time period
When preparing status updates or billing reports, use the date range filter to see all activity within a specific week or month.
Use cases for project history
Progress tracking
The activity history gives you a clear view of where a project stands. You can see which documents have been uploaded, which reviews have been completed, and what work remains.
Team accountability
For projects with multiple team members, the history shows who performed each action. This is helpful when you need to:
- Verify who uploaded a particular document
- Check who completed a specific review
- Confirm when a team member was added or removed
Audit compliance
In regulated industries or for matters with strict documentation requirements, the activity history serves as an audit trail that records every action taken on the project's documents and analyses.
The activity history is a log of events and cannot be edited or deleted. This ensures the integrity of the audit trail.
Client reporting
When you need to report on progress to a client or supervising partner, the activity history provides a factual record of all work completed on the matter.
Who can view project history
All project members -- Owners, Editors, and Viewers -- can see the complete activity history. There are no restrictions on viewing the audit trail within the project.
Activity notifications
In addition to the project history, Judicio sends notifications for significant events:
- When a document review or research activity completes
- When you are invited to a project
- When a team member is added or removed
These notifications appear in the notification area in the top-right corner of the dashboard. They link directly to the relevant project and activity.
