Translation FAQ
Answers to the most common questions about Judicio's Translation feature.
General
Which languages does Judicio support for translation?
Judicio supports a wide range of languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Marathi, Gujarati, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Japanese, Korean, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Arabic, Hebrew, Turkish, Thai, Vietnamese, and many more. See the full list on the Translating Documents page.
Can Judicio detect the source language automatically?
Yes. Judicio automatically detects the source language of your document. You only need to select the target language.
Can I translate a document into multiple languages at once?
Each translation job targets a single language. To translate a document into multiple languages, run a separate translation for each target language.
Does translation work with scanned documents?
Yes, as long as the scanned document has been processed by Judicio's OCR pipeline. Once OCR is complete, the extracted text can be translated like any other document.
Accuracy and quality
How accurate are the translations?
Judicio's AI models are trained on legal corpora and produce translations that faithfully convey the meaning, structure, and terminology of the original document. However, like all machine translation, the output should be reviewed by a qualified person before being used in any official capacity.
Some jurisdictions and courts require certified human translations for official filings. Judicio's translation is suitable as a high-quality first draft, but check your jurisdiction's requirements before submitting machine-translated documents as official records.
How does Judicio handle legal terminology?
Judicio's translation models are specifically tuned for legal language. Terms of art, defined terms, and jurisdiction-specific phrases are translated using their accepted legal equivalents in the target language, not literal word-for-word translations.
What if I find an error in the translation?
You have two options:
- Export as DOCX and edit -- Download the editable Word file and make corrections directly.
- Re-translate -- Start a new translation of the same document. This consumes additional credits.
Credits and pricing
How much does a translation cost?
Translation credits are based on the number of pages in your document. The more pages, the higher the cost. You always see the exact credit estimate before confirming the translation.
Am I charged if I cancel a translation?
If you cancel before processing starts, no credits are consumed. If translation has already begun, credits for the pages already processed may be deducted.
Do I pay again to re-download a previous translation?
No. Once a translation is complete, you can download it as many times as you like in any supported format without additional charges.
Formatting and output
Does the translated document preserve the original formatting?
Yes. Judicio's translation engine preserves headings, tables, numbered lists, clause numbering, and other structural elements from the original document.
What export formats are available?
You can export translated documents as PDF (formatted, read-only) or DOCX (editable Word document). See Downloading Results for details.
Can I translate a document that is already a translation?
Yes. You can translate any document in your File Library, including documents that were previously translated. This can be useful for back-translation verification or for creating translations in additional languages.
Batch processing
How many documents can I translate in one batch?
You can select multiple documents for batch translation. All documents in a batch share the same target language.
Can I choose different target languages for different documents in a batch?
No. A single batch uses one target language. If you need different target languages, run separate translation jobs for each language group.
Can I review and export each document in a batch individually?
Yes. Each document in a batch produces its own translation result. You can review and export each one independently.
